This is a powerful ancient Ayurvedic herb, and particularly useful during (although not limited to) the cold and ‘flu season as it helps to strengthen the immune system.  In Sanskrit, it means ‘horse’s smell’ which apparently refers to the strong odour of a hardworking horse of its roots!  However, it could also be linked to its adaptogenic quality, increasing stamina and improving resistance to chronic stress.
